oSTEM is a national society dedicated to educating and fostering leadership for LGBTQIA+ communities in the STEM fields.
The name of our organization, oSTEM, stands for out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. oSTEM is a national, non-profit society dedicated to serving LGBTQIA+ identified college students who are pursuing their studies in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
oSTEM @ Minnesota works to foster community and visibility for LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and faculty as well as provide support in professional and personal development. We are a group of highly motivated students who feel strongly about the importance of creating spaces that are welcoming and safe for people of marginalized identities.
Since our chapter's founding, we have worked tirelessly to provide an on-campus environment where LGBTQIA+ students interested in STEM fields are able to further their education and realize their potential as community leaders. We strive to empower each other and our peers through social development, professional skills development, networking opportunities, and collaborative projects with other student groups.
